Like Francie, I am not sure where to go to do some good. The California Democratic Party is active, but infected by the worst of leftism. Crooked Media is very good at organizing specific actions ( by actions, I mean here electronic activism, for better or worse). But we need ti see bodies in action. Where?

I like your reference to Heather. I would just add that she's not trying to reach republicans. I also like you comments about Kystal Ball who is incredibly annoying and self-righteous. I have to say, the people on the left, like her, make me angrier than many "every day" trump supporters; she knows better yet keeps pushing her "i'm more moral than you" BS. I'm glad to see we agree on this. In terms of organizing, I agree. it has to be a strong, diverse (young/old/working class/middle class/upper class/black/white/hispanic/women/men/and whoever is left).. is there an organization already formed, that i don't know about, that is doing this? I want to get involved, more than just facebook postings, but don't know how. i live in a very conservative, right wing, small town in upstate NY. Most of my neighbors are trumpers. I have too many discussions with them to know that they will not budge. They love him (why???). My representative is the slimy traitor, Elise Stefanik. Any suggestions of national organizations to get involved with? I will definitely keep looking.

Hi Francie. Tnx for ur continued engagement. Not many orgs of the sort you and I seek. Two suggestions: on NY state the Working Families Party is a serious org that works to elect prog Democrats. Also pick up at least a free sub to my friend Micah’s substack The Connector. It writes every week about grass roots engagement and is also in NY.

Im keeping to my two suggestions. $$ support for the Working Families Party (not in Calif). Also read The Connector substack that is always full of where to go stuff. ForCalifornians probably the best thing to is to volunteer EARLY to so work in the GOP held congressional districts that might be vulnerable. Mostly in the central valley and a few in Orange County. dont waste time volunteering where there s a sure GOP winner like with McCarthy. I also think Katie Porter would make a better senator than the other two but that might be a lost cause

Just listened to David Hogg, the young gun control activist from Florida. He talked about how they elected 25 year old Macwell Frost (who seems very effective to me) to Congress. They have created leaderswedeserve.org to work at grassroots to elect young progressives to state legislatures and Congress. Sounds very positive.

First, thank you for reminding me to get my colonoscopy, long overdue. Second, but more important, you are right that we must do everything possible to get rid of Trump and Trumpism, especially in the next presidential election; however, not at the expense of surrendering concern or political action toward all of the obvious life-or-death issues of the day. Those issues are the reason why we need to get rid of Trump and are the biggest motivation for doing so--they should be amply used to get the immediate task at hand completed. People are not going to give up their interest in the everyday political affairs of life, but that interest can be utilized to help get rid of Trumpism, at least as far as the 2024 election goes and maybe help set the stage for accomplishments beyond that. It needs to be pointed out that the Democrats are not the solution, but they will give us a bit more breathing space inside a world where breathing space is diminishing rapidly.
