The Coop Scoop is a regularly published newsletter that began in January 2020 and is now entering into its second year. My work draws from a full 50 years of experience as a journalist, writer, author and retired Professor of Journalism at the USC Annenberg School from where I retired in 2015.

I have traveled the country and the world writing news features and investigative reports and I have covered several presidential campaigns. My work has appeared in scores of publications and broadcast media ranging from the purely alternative press to high prestige mainstream outlets.

This newsletter is founded in progressive principles but spares no sacred cows. I have a long history of being “on the left” but I can be as critical of those folks as I can about anybody else.
