Coop Scoop: 2/26 The Slouching Toward Florida Edition
Anticipating Trump's Psychotic Break at CPAC on Sunday
By Marc Cooper
This missive is more of a short note than it is a full newsletter edition. I lost three full days this week securing my second COVID vaccination. Because the site was about 300 miles NW of me in Wenatchee, WA and because of winter storms — this simple operation spanned from Tues morning until late Thursday nite. I got home late last nite completely drained.
Each leg of the trip was more than 5 hrs and for a lot of the time, in both the coming and going, I had to navigate a snowstorm, an ice storm (!) and very heavy rain. Quite an adventure.
Consequently, I am one very tired person. Too tired to bang out a full newsletter today. So if you were expecting one, you will have to wait a few more days.
Things I am really looking at this weekend: Can the Democrats muster the nerve to over-rule the Senate parliamentarian and push the minimum wage through via reconciliation or…why doesn’t the Democratic Party put all of its weight in squeezing its more conservative members and just nuke the filibuster. don’t answer. I now why.
As long as that does not take place, 90% of the Democratic agenda will be DOA. It’s about that simple. And Democrats will have nobody to blame except themselves.
I am also looking forward to Sunday when that goofy retired short-fingered Florida pensioner will inaugurate himself for 2024 at CPAC — the annual jamboree of werewolves, howling moondogs, Trumpanzees, and wing-nuts and now with the added spice of revolutionary insurrectionists. The more Trump talks, the more voters he alienates.
