If I ever get stuck in a fox hole, Oh Lordy, please make it be with the French Army instead of with American Democrats. At least the former held out for six weeks before getting blitzed. But the latter…. No more than 6 minutes after Biden fell behind in Wisconsin and Michigan not to mention Pennsylvania in the vote count last night, the Democrats were elbowing each other aside, begging to surrender their arms and collapsing on the floor in puddles of tears.
No matter they were told for weeks on end to expect a so-called Red Mirage, especially in the upper Midwest, and to not be fooled by it. Most of the counties in that tri-state region didn’t even start counting the towers of mail-in ballots that are stacked all around them. But, no… instant mass panic attack.
Things look quite a bit different today, though, don’t they? AS WAS PREDICTED Biden overcame the GOP vote overnight and has locked up both Wisconsin and Michigan. While his deficit in Pennsylvania is larger, there is also a much larger load of mail in ballots, mostly Democratic, still waiting to be counted in that state.
It’s Biden, not Trump, as of Wednesday afternoon that is on the verge of winning the presidency. If Biden hangs on to his leads in NV and AZ or if he overcomes the gap in PA it’s game over. The first option looks very probable. The second is certainly possible as well. We should should know by tomorrow night I suspect.
Meanwhile, the Baby-In-Chief is about to get a spanking. His middle of the night exhortation to stop counting legal votes was roundly criticized, even by some spineless Republicans who don’t agree he should say the quiet part out loud.
We need to be able to celebrate Trump’s defeat but we also have to remain vigilant as this moment now is the most perilous. I doubt that Trump will have much success with the courts but we cannot take any chances.
I sent out a note Monday suggesting that readers sign up at https://protecttheresults.com where a national network of resistance to election tampering is being stood up. This is important work and you should get on the mailing list.
That said, I was a bit frustrated to read the message from them this morning:
